Niamh Randall & Michael Taft #Budget19 Ep.21

Budget 2019 is in the books and the analysis has ranged from middling to a bit meh. We have National Spokesperson and Head of Policy with the Simon Community Niamh Randall and Economist and Researcher with SIPTU Michael Taft to discuss the real meat of the budget, burst the myth that it is a Social Democratic Budget and discuss the opportunities missed by the Government to seriously tackle the Housing Emergency.

This is a fantastic analysis that puts real people at the heart of the Budget and explains the failures of inaction and offers solutions to the crisis. Above all else, both Niamh and Michael stress that the housing crisis is fixable and that we mustn’t allow the creeping acceptance that a high level of homelessness is normal. It is not.
