Paul Sweeney #StoppingNeoliberalism Ep. 18

We talk to Paul Sweeney, an economist who has been involved in analysing the Irish economy for over 40 years. We start by asking Paul who really runs Ireland, are we heading towards another financial crash and what should the government do in the coming Budget?

We also discuss Minister for Finance Pascal Donohoe’s recent speech and claim to centrism – and we throw out an invite to Pascal if we wants to come in to the Pod. Paul also outlines his views on the current fault-lines we face -particularly in relation to our over reliance on multinational tax and talks about the shift away from privatisation and move to remunicipalisation – the state coming back in to provide public services and infrastructure given the failure of Public Private Partnerships.
