This Reboot Republic talks to Sinead McGarry, Social Worker and advocate about the experience of those who are vulnerable, such as in nursing homes, those with disabilities, children and domestic violence, in COVID. Sinead criticises the absence of a holistic approach in the Government COVID strategy and the failure to include the voice of the vulnerable in planning COVID measures. She outlines the specific role of Social Workers as social and health care professionals trained in human rights and advocacy, that can bring the voice and issues faced by those vulnerable to the decision and policy making table. The Government needs to step up.
