This Reboot Republic podcast discusses the issue of schools and COVID19, how they can be kept open and safe for the school community, in conjunction with the Children’s Futures campaign and Children’s Rights Alliance. In the discussion are Dr Abigail Collins, Consultant in Public Health, Aine Lynch, National Parents Council & Children’s Futures Campaign, Erika a secondary school student and Carl O Brien, education correspondent with the Irish Times.

It discusses the impact of lockdowns and importance of school for children and young people, particularly disadvantaged children and children with additional needs. It also outlines how schools being safe relies on the wider community levels and measures to address this. We also discuss the need to resource education adequately and to rebuild solidarity across the school community of children, staff and parents.
