It was a pleasure to be joined on the tortoise shack by Alliance Party Cllr and Belfast City Mayor, Kate Nicholl. Kate, born in Zimbabwe, tells us about how Belfast became her home when she no longer had one and how, on this Refugee Week, she wants the city to be the same for people from all corners of the city and further afield.
We also discuss the DUP meltdown and what that means for Political Unionism and how their inability to implement items they’ve agreed to is hindering the need for a COVID recovery plan for NI. We talk Unity and the shared challenges of Health, Housing and Education across the island and Kate shares her vision for Belfast. A really great conversation and much more optimistic than you’d think.
