Ep.384 Spruced Up – Ireland’s Forestry with Niall Sargent

We covered the Forestry Bill quite a bit on The Tortoise Shack. So when investigative reporter, Niall Sargent, produced two excellent pieces into our forestry system, we had to get him back on. The numbers in the current Plantation Model aren’t good and Niall talks us through a myriad of complexities that have, in one contributors opinion, led to ‘a vortex of inaction.’ We discuss what this means for water quality, biodiversity, species loss, the environment and mental health impacts. Plus there is even a cause for hope!
