Ep.391 #MyBodyMyChoice: The Polish Protests with Artur Widak

In November 1918, just two weeks after Poland regained independence, Polish women were granted the right to vote. Our guest is Krakow based Photojournalist, Artur Widak, and he told us that fact proudly as he was putting into context the huge protests taking place across Poland against the constitutional courts ruling of Oct 22nd, that aim to restrict abortion services.

Artur has been on the streets documenting the women’s led movement that is pushing back against the Law and Justice (PiS) Party’s moves to the authoritarian right. With almost 20,000 Covid-19 cases confirmed in Poland today, this is a very tense and difficult time and we, as EU citizens, should be offering support to these brave people standing up for reproductive rights.
