Ep.45 Hanging with the Hearne’s – Kate Marie

This Reboot Republic is particularly special and insightful – Rory chats to his sister Kate Marie, who is a primary school teacher in Tramore, Waterford and mom of a 1 year old and 3 year old. Kate talks about the challenges and joys of being a mother of young kids, they also talk about the impact of Direct Provision and Homelessness on children.

Kate Marie, who is a former All Ireland winning camogie player with Waterford, outlines the conditioning of expectations of women in sport and inequality, but also the new grassroots GAA One Club approach. Finally Kate outlines the need for an Ireland that values children and the nurtures the hope that resides in them.

A lovely listen.
