Ep.80 – Affordable Homes on Public Land

This Reboot Republic talks about the proposal for public housing on public land at the Oscar Traynor site, and the latest around the Land Development Agency with Labour Party Councillor Alison Gilliland, who is Chair of the Strategic Policy Committee on Housing for Dublin City Council, and to Councillor John Lyons, of independent left. They set out the new proposals for the site based on 100% affordable and public housing, the requirement of support from the rest of the council and the Department and Minister for Housing to progress the plan. They also highlight the problems with the proposed removal of Councillors powers in the Land Development Agency Bill.

This is an informed discussion that has a workable solution to the mixed housing needs of all sectors of our society.
